Christmas message from Mrs Burgess

Saturday, 20 December 2014

Despite so much illness we have made it through to the end of term! It was lovely to hear so many compliments at the Year 3 & 4 play this week, congratulations to all the children on the
stunning performance of their play 'Christmas 1914.'
This week I have been awarding badges to children who have 25 stars so far this year. The idea is that the children receive a star when they show a school value, when they get 25 they come for their badge. Then every further 25 stars they get they will get an extra sticker on their badge. Please encourage your child to look after their badge and have it in school every Thursday and Friday so if they need an extra sticker they can visit me! If your child loses their badge we do ask for £1 to replace it please.
We have held the first of our termly attendance assemblies. Our school attendance target is 96 percent so children who have 96-97 percent this term will receive a bronze certificate, children with 98-99 percent a silver and those with 100 percent a gold. In addition to this we give children a raffle ticket each week when they have been in school everyday that week, this way children who have been ill do not miss out as we want children to stay at home and get better when they are ill! Every child therefore has at least one ticket in the raffle which we will be drawing in our final
assembly.
Thank you all for your support this term, and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We look forward to seeing the children back in school on the 6th January well rested and ready for their new topic.
