The opening of the Sensory Pod

Sunday, 30 November 2014

Our fantastic new Sensory Pod has been opened.

The stand alone pod is a sensory room with light and sound, fibre optics and a bubble tube.  Although it was created specifically for children in the school with Autism and ADHD it will be used and enjoyed by all pupils.

The project, which cost £16,000, was generously funded by Aldwyck Housing Association and Fox Engineering.

“We are thrilled with the finished pod”, said Mrs Burgess. “We have had great help and our future aim is to now develop a sensory garden and circuit room and a soft play area.”

X Factor contestant, Lauren Lovejoy, who also has Asperger’s, performed for the pupils and guests at the opening.
